How can cities ensure essential public transport workers live affordably and close to where they work?
CEDA is pleased to welcome Henri Pottier, CEO Asia-Pacific for RATP Dev, for an engaging discussion on RATP Habitat—an innovative initiative that has reshaped workforce housing in the heart of Paris.
Facing high living costs and limited housing supply in Île-de-France, RATP Group created RATP Habitat to provide affordable, high-quality housing for its employees - often built above existing train stations and infrastructure. Today, RATP Habitat manages nearly 10,000 homes with 40% occupied by RATP employees. These include social residences, young worker housing, and intermediate rentals—offering stability and community to their own employees.
As Melbourne grapples with similar housing challenges for key workers, what lessons can be drawn from Paris? Can the State better integrate housing, mobility, and social infrastructure to improve quality of life for its essential public transport workers?
Join us for this timely conversation on the intersection of transport, housing, and inclusive city-building.
